This forty-hour course will provide police officers with the knowledge and tools to enforce commercial vehicle traffic laws. Basic weight, exceptions to basic weight, registration, licensing, permits, and an overview of the use of portable scales will be covered. Students will spend half the course working with the Illinois State Police at a weight enforcement detail. This will provide a hands-on experience not provided at any other training.
